Statistics for Children in Crisis Worldwide- Trafficking
Description
So many are vulnerable and far from home, unable to come and go freely because they have been trafficked from one country to another. Forced or tricked into leaving their homes, children find themselves in a foreign country, with no-one to help them escape the exploitation waiting for them there. An estimated 1.2 million children are trafficked each year - it is the fastest-growing form of international crime. This year, the "Stop the Traffik" campaign (www.stopthetraffik.org) is raising awareness of the issue, and lobbying governments and the United Nations to bring about change.
