Overview of Ministry Activity

Adoption

ECAS is a full-service, non-profit, adoption agency, licensed in the state of Minnesota.

At ECAS, we believe that every child deserves love, nurture and the security of a family of their own. Thousands of children who cannot speak for themselves live in overseas orphanages hoping and waiting to become part of a devoted permanent family. The heart's cry of ECAS is to make their dreams come true in the, fastest, easiest, way possible for your family.

At ECAS we specialize in fulfilling the dreams of Americans who long to parent. Our primary focus has been to find permanent, loving families in the United States for orphaned children from Russia and Ukraine. We also assist clients with adoptions of children from other countries. ECAS is also happy to assist Minnesota families in meeting its state's requirements for domestic adoption. We're dedicated to helping families make their adoption dreams come true in a personal, prompt, and economical manner.

ECAS offers special fees to families adopting multiple siblings and children with special needs.

Journey of Hope Summer Respite Program

More than 650,000 children struggle to survive in the orphanages of Russia. The older a child is, the less likely they will ever be adopted. In Russia, it is estimated that only 5% of the children over 5 years of age will ever be adopted. 15,000 orphans who are released annually when they reach 18 years of age were tracked as part of a re-search study. Within a year of leaving the orphanage 33% were living in the streets, 20% had committed a crime, and 10% killed themselves. Through the Journey of Hope, you can play a part in changing these statistics for the better. You can help these children find hope and a family.

European Children Adoption Services (ECAS) sponsors the Journey of Hope for Russian orphans every summer. Orphaned children from Russia, ages 5 through 12, travel to the United States and stay with host families in the Twin Cities area for 3-4 weeks. This program provides a respite for these older orphans, and offers them an opportunity to experience family life and the wonders of Minnesota. At the same time, prospective adoptive parents are able to spend quality time with these remarkable children, and may decide to invite one or more of the children to join their families. Forever.

Humanitarian Aid and Relief

ECAS offers humanitarian aid, medical supplies, toys, clothing, and other things needed to improve the quality of life for the children who remain in orphanages.

ECAS also makes every effort to help older children, children with special needs and children who are part of sibling groups find a permanent family in the US. ECAS offers adoptive families reduced fees and scholarships for adoption of special needs children.

Financial Needs

We appeal to businesses, churches, organizations and individuals to help us provide humanitarian aid to orphans. Funds are also needed for Journey of Hope program expenses and to help families adopt special needs children.

ECAS is tax exempt organization and contributions aretax deductible.
