Heather Forbes shared the building blocks of the Beyond Consequences approach during last year’s conference. This year, she will explain more techniques and invite deeper understanding. Heather will give you a fresh perspective that goes beyond those ineffective traditional approaches. Rest assured, this training goes beyond just talk. Effective techniques will be identified and clearly demonstrated.
Ms. Forbes brings not only her professional knowledge of adoption issues, but shares from the honest heart of an adoptive mom. She gives examples from her own experience from parenting failures to demonstrating her journey to parenting success.
If you attended last year’s conference, this will be a great addition to all the hard work and techniques you learned and have been practicing this year. If you did not attend last year’s conference, you are in for a great learning experience. We do recommend that participants who are not familiar with Heather Forbes’s work read her first book “Beyond Consequences: Logic and Control Volume 1.” Heather’s books can be found in our library (www.wifostercareandadoption.org), your local Post Adoption Resource Center or can be purchased at www.beyondconsequences.org.
